Ocean City Biodiversity is the country's first Local Authority led Habitat Banking Vehicle, offering credible & affordable offsite biodiversity units in Plymouth. Our mission aims & objectives are: - Enhancing and maintaining resilient, biodiverse landscapes in and around Plymouth. - Guaranteeing high integrity and high quality biodiversity units at a fair price, supporting Plymouth’s Nature Recovery targets, Plan for Nature and People & Local Nature Recovery Network. - Delivering high quality accessible green space, valued as a community asset and providing opportunities for recreational activities and access to nature. Ham Woods is a 35.9 ha Local Nature Reserve (LNR) situated within the City of Plymouth supporting a range of habitat types such as, lowland mixed deciduous woodland, wet woodland, other neutral grassland and more. These habitats function as core ecological networks and are key for a range of flora and fauna in Plymouth such as green woodpeckers, enchanter's nightshade and oak hook-tips.
