Overview
Description
We have a 30 year plan in place to re establish the true lowland heath nature of our land in the Southern Pennines. We currently have acid grassland, scrub, rush and heather with a smattering of self seeded birch trees and cotton grass. The aim is to encourage more heather and red listed ground nesting upland birds, merlin, owls etc. We already have green woodpeckers on site, chiffchaff and buzzards. We have a plan to establish a more diverse patchwork of flora by encouraging the heather to establish. We will work on the heathland and management of our owned adjacent land which is currently grazed by livestock. This can only enhance the wildlife and biology already present on this mainly sandstone area. The aim is to lightly graze the BNG land which will assist in the biodiversity by putting muck and insects where the wildlife needs it and they will further encourage the patchwork nature of the land. The aim is to connect the site with the wider South Pennine area to ensure the call of the skylark, curlew and lapwing are maintained and increased for future generations. This is a passion of ours and we will work to help developers improve their offsite biodiversity net gain. You can purchase in whole lots or parts thereof. Still awaiting S106 agreement but will accept deposits on reserved units
