Overview
Description
Originally an RAF airfield during the Second World War, the land was left to regenerate naturally for decades following decommissioning, quietly rewilding itself into a site of genuine ecological significance. Adjacent to the Ashton Wold SSSI and designated as a Local Wildlife Site, Polebrook has been under the careful stewardship of the Broadbent family for over 50 years. That history is now being channelled into something lasting. The site delivers over 150 biodiversity units across High and Medium Distinctiveness Habitats, including: Open Mosaic Habitat Lowland Mixed Deciduous Woodland Species-rich Hedgerows Priority Ponds
