Description
We are a family run farm with a proven record of conservation projects and successful habitat management. Establishment of new scrub habitat at Hunts Farm will be starting this autumn, following on from our grassland and woodland creation last year. This site is highlighted as an area of Strategic Opportunity for habitat creation in the Essex LNRS. Situated on the Blackwater Estuary and neighboring the RSPB's Old Hall Marshes reserve and Tollesbury Wick reserve managed by Essex Wildlife Trust this site offers great habitat connectivity. This field, on the edge of the village, links hedgerows, trees and the potential for open areas of grass. Scrub can be some of the most diverse habitat, supporting a wide range of species. The majority of the surrounding area is open arable fields and grassland, with few significant areas of scrub. As such, this site is likely to become a haven for a wide range of species. We are happy to discuss the sale of any number of full or part units, with prices dependent on total requirements. Grassland, woodland, hedgerow, saltmarsh and reedbed units also available across BEIC sites. BEIC habitats sit alongside the Blackwater Estuary, a nationally important area for wetland birds and coastal habitat. Our sites are delivering significant benefits to the local area as well as the globally important East Atlantic Flyway, with our gazing marsh home to thousands of migrating Brent geese in the winter.
