Wood pasture and parkland and species rich/native hedgerow
Added on 07/01/2026
Overview
Description
Located within South Warnborough Park, Hampshire, this 9.36-hectare habitat bank delivers Biodiversity Net Gain within an established area of wood pasture and parkland, a Habitat of Principal Importance and very high distinctiveness. The scheme enhances existing parkland through targeted restoration to good condition, including species-rich calcareous grassland, new scattered native trees, scrub creation, veteranisation to increase deadwood habitats, and creation and enhancement of native hedgerows. The Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan is in place and the project is forecast to generate up to 15.80 biodiversity units, offering developers access to a scarce, high-value habitat type with strong ecological integrity and long-term delivery certainty.
