This Site consists of mainly of cattle-grazed pasture and covers a total area of 18.43 ha. The fields form the floodplain of the river Tamar and are frequently inundated after rain. The bed of the former Launceston Canal runs along the southwestern edge of the Site. The works will involve reflooding this canal, removing invasive species from the riparian zone of the Tamar and restoring very high distinctiveness relict purple moor grass and rush pasture. The landowner is keen to begin in the restoration of this pasture as well as the improvement along the riparian zone of the Tamar. This Habitat Bank has been or is being added to Natural England's BNG Register and units are being reserved and purchased.
